The home visit service by internal medicine doctors operates in full accordance with the protocols and professional standards of SOS Doctors.
On-call SOS internists in Athens will visit you in a specially equipped vehicle as soon as you contact our call center at 1016, in order to examine you and provide an accurate diagnosis. They will prescribe the appropriate medication and treatment plan. If necessary, they will recommend further diagnostic tests, which can also be performed at home by qualified nursing staff. They remain available for follow-up advice or additional visits until you have fully recovered.
If you already have a personal physician, they will be fully informed by our attending doctor. It is part of the SOS Doctors’ philosophy never to replace or disregard the patient’s regular or family doctor, but only to provide critical support when urgent medical care is needed.

SOS INTERNIST ATHENS – PRICES
The cost of a home visit by an SOS internist may vary depending on your location and will be clearly communicated to you by our coordination center during your initial call.
The doctor will provide you with a medical report bearing the official SOS Doctors logo, along with a payment receipt.

SERVICE FEE
SOS Doctors have established maximum limits for medical visit fees by specialty, for the benefit of patients. However, the company’s policy provides for lower fees for socially and economically disadvantaged groups. For every payment, an official perforated receipt is always issued, which the patient may submit to their insurance provider or to the tax authorities.
Payment may also be made using VISA and MASTERCARD credit cards.

In the event of a call outside the ELPA Athens–Suburbs coverage map, an additional charge will apply, which you may inquire about through the SOS Doctors coordination center.
As of July 1, 2025, a new pricing policy comes into effect for the specialty of internal medicine. The internists’ fee includes, at no extra charge, pulse oximetry, blood glucose measurement, and the administration of injections of standard medications. A different pricing policy applies to hotels and BnBs.
