SOS DOCTORS are the first Greek organization of free-lancers, specialized doctors, with the exclusive purpose of providing 24-hour home medical services in emergencies. 

It was established in 1993 and, in nowadays,  occupies 100 doctors of all the basic specialities: cardiologists, pathologists, pneumonologists surgeons, pediatricians, orthopaedists, psychiatrists, neurologists, gastroenterologists, urologists,    anaesthetists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, E.N.T.,  gynecologists, microbiologists, radiologists, endocrinologists, pediatric surgeons.

SOS DOCTORS are exclusively a self-financed and economically independent company, which subsists on the payment on behalf of its doctors-members, part of the fee of the house calls.

SOS DOCTOR' s philosophy is that it constitutes their obligation to hurry at the patient’s side as quickly as possible, any day, any time.

This is why SOS DOCTORS do not work according to insurance companies’ patterns (members’ registrations or contributions). SOS DOCTORS are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (even feasts and holidays) in order to reach immediately (in 45 minutes) the house of each patient who will call to 1016.

SOS DOCTORS believe that, in emergencies, immediate medical services are necessary while hospitalization is not. The visit in the house of a patient, in his personal environment, which is a valuable source of information as regards the patient’s medical history, constitutes a European tradition in medical practice. Moreover, a SOS Doctor’s house call is really a much more economic solution.
